Many of our coaches are former Nepean Artistic Swimming athletes who have chosen to remain active in the sport and continue to promote our club’s philosophy to develop well-rounded, disciplined and confident athletes.

Led by certified, experienced coaches—many of them former Nepean athletes—our team is committed to building confident, well-rounded swimmers.

Gillian King

Head Coach

Gillian has been coaching for over 10 years, the majority being with NASC. She was a swimmer at the high-performance level and has recently completed her Masters in Intervention and Consulation (Applied Sport Psychology) at the University of Ottawa. She has worked with all age groups, from our youngest rec swimmers to our oldest competitive swimmers, and also coaches with Team Ontario and Ontario Artistic Swimming’s Learn to Train program. Gillian loves to see the athletes fall in love with the sport and learn new skills every season, in addition to all of the creativity that comes with choreographing routines and making practices fun and engaging!

Erin Alizadeh

Lead Recreational Coach

Erin is going into her third season coaching with NASC, following 4 seasons coaching in London, Ontario and swimming for over 5 seasons at the national level. She has recently completed a Masters degree in Sport Management and Leadership where she did research about developing athletes into leaders. Her favourite part about the sport is the friendships that form from synchro and she enjoys helping athletes build a love for the sport!

Bridget Moore

Competitive and Novice Coach

Bridget has been involved with NASC for over 15 years as a competitive swimmer and coach. She has coached in a variety of age groups, from 10U to Junior competitive, and has her competition introduction certification. She is also still involved with the club as a masters swimmer, recently competing at the masters World Championships in Japan!

Clare Treberg

Competitive and Novice Coach

Clare has been swimming in the competitive stream since the age of 8, with most of those years being with NASC! She has spent the past 2 years in the junior category, swimming on teams that consistently placed in the top 3 in the province. She has been involved in our recreational stream for the past 3 seasons, most recently coaching our precompetitive program.

Kaitlyn Bird

Competitive and Novice Coach

Kaitlyn has been swimming with NASC for over 5 years, swimming in every age group of our competitive stream. She has also been very involved in our mixed ability and adadpted programs over the past few seasons! Kaitlyn currently swims on our junior competitive team and has been working in the recreational stream for the past 3 years.

Emma English

Competitive and Novice Coach

Emma has been involved with NASC as a competitive swimmer and coach for over 15 years, including over 5 years in a head coaching role. She still competes successfully as a masters swimmer, recently competing in the masters World Championships in Kagoshima, Japan. Emma holds a degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa, her competition development certification, and has over 5 years of experience as the previous head coach of NASC.

Aylish Kennedy

Competitive and Novice Coach

Aylish has been swimming with NASC for over 6 years, the majority of those being in our novice stream. She and her team have earned multiple titles at the novice level and she has been involved in coaching our recreational athletes, including half-season, full-season, and precompetitive, for the past 3 seasons.

Ariane Downar

Competitive and Novice Coach

Ariane has been swimming competitively 10 years with NASC and Toronto Artistic Swimming at the provincial and national level and is going into her 3rd year of coaching with the club. She previously coached the precompetitive program and is working toward her competition introduction certification. Her favourite part of coaching is making connections with the athletes and spreading her love for the sport to new swimmers!

Lindsay Pinch

Competitive and Novice Coach

Lindsay has been coaching with NASC for over 10 years and coaches mostly with our Athletes with Disabilities program. She swam for the club for almost 10 years and her favourite part about coaching is watching athletes progress and fall in love with the sport. Outside of the pool, she is a full time elementary school teacher.

Natasha Strong

Competitive and Novice Coach

Natasha has been coaching with NASC for over 8 years, starting in the recreational stream and now working primarily with our older competitive athletes! She was a swimmer with NASC for many years and has been a huge contributor to our coaching team over the years. She is also a certified level 1 judge and technical controller, so you may see her on the judges panel at many of our competitions!

Colleen Macmillan

Competitive and Novice Coach

Colleen has been coaching for 4 years with NASC in addition to being a swimmer in the recreational and novice streams for over 10 years. She is also a swim instructor and working towards her competition introduction certification. Her favourite part of the sport and coaching is being part of a team and being able to see everyone’s improvement throughout the season.

Clara Grisim

Competitive and Novice Coach

Clara started as an assistant coach in 2020 and has been coaching with NASC for 4 years in addition to being a swimmer with the club since she was in the 10U age category. As an athlete, she has experience in high performance programs including Ontario’s Junior Provincial Team. Her favourite parts of the sport and coaching is being able to have fun with the creativity of choreography and seeing athletes reaching their goals.

Katheryn Nowell

Competitive and Novice Coach

Katheryn has been coaching with NASC for almost 15 years in programs ranging from 11-12 competitive to Junior national in addition to having swam at the provincial, national, university, and masters levels. She is competition development certified and works as a forensic accountant in addition to coaching. Her favourite parts of coaching are the teamwork, creativity, and love of the sport that can be shared with everyone!

Corinne Wille

Competitive and Novice Coach

Corinne has been coaching with NASC for the past 4 years as an assistant coach and now competitive coach in addition to swimming for 11 years, with 9 of those years being in the competitive program. She continues to swim at the junior level and her favourite thinking about NASC is the community between all the club members and how welcoming and kind everyone is.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
